J.E.E. Eco-Calendar 2018 -- Wind Journey with the Eco-neko --
This year's calendar continues from the themes of "Green", "Light" and "Water" focusing this year on "Wind".

Wind is the invisible movement of air in the atmosphere surrounding the earth. Since old times, people have used wind as a natural energy source, but it can sometimes be too powerful and destructive.

Culturally, people have responded to wind in poetry, and have seen it as a metaphor for social change.

Japanese poetry reveals close and deep connections between wind and daily life. We hope you enjoy the 12 aspects of wind depicted in this calendar, including some wind-related poems.

Mr. High Moon (Takatsuki Hiroshi) has been the calendar's artist for over 27 years. This time, every month we are happy to re-encounter the Eco-neko, who we haven't seen for a few years.

This calendar is bilingual. We hope that it is useful for language learning.

As usual we include environment-related dates. This year we have added “World Food Day" (Oct. 16th).

Did you notice at the bottom of each calendar page the average hours of daylight are shown for each month? We also include the phases of the moon, and seasonal markers as reminders of the natural cycles.
