J.E.E. Eco-Calendar 2015
-- What's Green? --

  • calender image

This is the 24th J.E.E. calendar. Every year we choose a new theme, then we make the illustrations and text.

  • When we started to think about this year's theme, we focused on the questions “What is GREEN?" and “Why is GREEN so important in our lives?" These are quite serious questions.

  • After a lot of thought and discussion, we came up with this, our calendar for 2015. We hope that you find our various concepts of GREEN to be interesting and valuable.

  • Naturally, it's impossible to cover everything in only twelve items, so we also invite you to contemplate this topic, and to come up with your own definition of what GREEN is, from deep in your own heart.

  • We selected different key colors, according to each month's concept. We were surprised to see how rich the Japanese language is in green-related vocabulary. What color do you imagine when you think of GREEN?

  • As usual, the pictures for this year's calendar were painted by our good friend, Mr. High Moon, who presents many angles and vivid details, with a warm heart.

  • This calendar is bilingual. We hope that it is useful for language learning.

  • Our calendar is different from others, due to its environmental message including environment-related dates. The phases of the moon are shown with these symbols: OOOO.

  • Artwork: High Moon (Hiroshi Takatsuki), member of the Japan Manga Association, Director of Kyoto's Miyako Ecology Center and emeritus professor, Kyoto University.

  • Together with the calendar, You can receive eco-postcard and mini-calendar, as a special present.
